Kick-off the Preschool-Youth Summer Reading Program,
"Unearth a Story" with an afternoon of fun and discovery!
Enjoy an interactive animal show presented by the
Great Plains Zoo ZooMobile. Join us at 2 p.m. in the 
Freeman Community Center Meeting Room to enjoy the show
and learn more about our Summer Reading Program!

Freeman Public Library is thrilled to present "Unearth a Story" as part of our Summer Reading Program! 

The 2026 Summer Reading Program is open to individuals from the following age groups:
  • Preschool (ages 3-5)
  • Elementary (grades K-6)
  • Youth (grades 7-12)
  • Adults (ages 18+)

From June 8th to July 22rd, participants ​in the Children's (Preschool-Youth) program can track their reading minutes to earn amazing prizes! Weekly events which will include hands-on projects, engaging activities, and so much more! Registration will open soon.

Adults will receive a Read Across America Map to record the books that are read between
​June 1 - August 31 to qualify for chances to win prizes!
