2021 Summer Reading Program
The Freeman Public Library will be holding our annual Summer Reading Program for
Preschool and School Age children from June 14 – July 17. Registration is now open.
Forms are available on the Library’s website (online or print out) and in the
library's entryway. Paper registration forms may be placed in the library book return,
mailed, or turned in to the staff at the circulation desk.
This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales” with a focus on animals, birds,
and other creatures with tails in literature.
The Summer Reading Program will be similar to last year's program. Each week, we will
be offering a Grab and Go Kit to every child that is registered. Each kit will contain
crafts, activities, and other fun stuff relating to the weekly theme. There will also be some
optional online activities. New this year will be several in-person, outside
"pop-up" events, with fun activities to participate in on a drop-in basis.
Currently, one event for each age group is planned. Please watch for information
regarding the time, date, and location of these events.
As in other years, there will also be a reading challenge with the chance to earn prizes.
This year children have the opportunity to earn a ticket for each reading level attained
by logging minutes read throughout the course of the Reading Program.
Tickets will also be earned by registering for the Summer Reading Program,
by attending the pop-up event for your age group, and by picking up
the weekly Grab & Go Kits. Tickets will then be redeemed for cool prizes at the
Library's Reading Rewards Shoppe during the week of July 19 - 24.
